I'd never go out on a ride if that was the case

I was out last Friday night for a few pints of ale. Next day I got flattened by a taxi. I don't think they were related as I was completely blameless but I did stop for a rest at the top of a hill I generally fly up. The rest was alcohol related so, if I'd not had a few pints of Summer Lightning I'd not have needed a rest, if I'd not had a rest, I'd have passed the junction 2or 3 mins before that bl**dy taxi got there and would not have been wiped out.

I take a hip flask of whisky out with me on cold winter Sunday rides

Whenever I've got completely blasted and had a long ride the next day - the morning seems okay, but later you really feel like crap. Just can't hydrate no matter how much you drink. There's always hair of the dog for a moral boost I suppose.

I frequently have a couple of pints in the evening's on my Lake District cycling holidays with @Rickshaw Phil and it doesn't cause me too much trouble. The exercise tends to blow the cobwebs away ! Also have the odd pint whilst out on a ride ^_^ but any more than 1 does tend to make it a struggle from then on!
