Hello all. No doubt Nobody remember me posting a while ago about the Boardman comp road bike and if it was any good. Well I got some good advice from that post which I am very thankful for. Back when I posted it I was doing preliminary searches for bikes but now its coming to the time when I am in the position to buy.

Now as some people may know the boardman comp has gone up in price

http://www.halfords.com/webapp/wcs/...6-b2c0-dc36b54a327e&istItemId=liwqmq&istBid=t

Although its only £50 its still a bit annoying so I had a another search and came up with these two

and

I am having trouble deciding which one to stick with and go for as Compared to my bike any would be a major upgrade. Although I am edging towards the focus.

Any help would be great.

Thank you:smile:

Okay then

Firstly, decide what you want to use the bike for.
Secondly, decide if you want a double or triple.
Thirdly, I'm surprised the Boardman has only gone up 50 quid...
Fourthly, if it's only the 50 quid that is puting you off then you need to think a bit more about what you want the bike for and take more time making your choice - a 50 quid increase should not be a deciding factor in choosing your bike.
Fifthly, I'd go for the Focus.

To be honest I was edging towards the focus but I wanted some opinions before my decision was definately made.

Thanks muchly for the reply

Strange that the price increase of £50 is putting you off the Boardman whilst the Focus is another £60 on top of the increased price.

As

said, the Boardman is a double, the Focus a triple, that would be important for me.

However, before offering advice, what sort of riding do you do (solo/group, commuting, sport, sightseeing, excercise etc), where (hills or flat, 10 miles or 100) and which fits you best in a test ride?

I'd probably rule out the Cube on discomfort grounds - the blurb on the link you gave says stuff about stiffness and sprinting which tends to suggest, at this price point, the ride will be pretty hard.

I bought a Focus (from someone one this board actually), and I absolutely love it. I haven't however tried the other two so can't really compare, but the Focus bikes all seem great value.
