Am hoping T-Rex comes along and with those big old jaws of he's, grab's the red vauxhall in one fowl swoop and swollows it whole thus pretaining to Darwins theroy, whilst simutaniously cocking his head and giving you the wink, before sprinting off, allowing you to continue on your merry way, unharmed...

What, no?? Spoilsports...

Edit:- Well that just shows my attentiveness, the car moving was not red, it was blue... drat!

There are 2 hazards that actually play out in this. I don't think it is quite obvious in the clip, but the car ahead is signalling. The other hazard is less obvious but just as important to consider none the less.

You were not paying attention?

If you play with the contrast slightly, you can just make out a flying saucer approaching in the distance. I reckon they have come to probe cyclists....

I was and had considered it a while back. Just that no one as mentioned it yet.

Edit: As I have revealed the answers, the parked car looks like just any other parked car. Just shows the importance of staying out of the car door zone.

Option 1

Duncan Norvelle and Graham Norton leap out from the sunroof of the oncoming car both, wearing a Borat suit with one shouting ... "Chase me big boy!" and the other shouting "Park you bike here" as he bends over!

Option 2

Mother Teresa slambs on her breaks and begins throwing her flip flops at you screaming "Fecking cyclists! think they own the road"

Option 3

You get scalped at the last minute by a two year old, on a yellow and pink polka-dot tricycle, giving you the finger as she passes

Option 3 sounds feasible to me

One of the parked cars (on your right) sees that the car behind him is going to turn right. So he (or she) pulls out rapidly and widely, straight into your path?

Edit just seen your above post, and no, I have not watched the second video before posting the above. (Do not know yet whether I was right or wrong).

Talking of people opening their door in front of a cyclist, saw some karma last night for an RLJr.

He's crusing along in front of me, when the car we are following indicates left and starts to slow down. There is no apparent reason for this as there is no junction for ages. Anyway the car stops, about a metre from the curb, presumably because he knows hes recenctly overtaken a cyclist and it might still be there. So RLJr decides to undertaken the stopping car, at which point the passenger decides to get out of the car..... DOH!!!

There was no collision and RLJr managed to successfully undertake the car whilst the passenger closed the door.

You never can be too careful.

The car door was open pretty long before you approached it looking at the video, but this game could catch on.
