Did he actually not have a parachute, or did he have one and not deploy it? Basically I'm wondering what was the last point where he could have bottled it?
I did enjoy the commentator getting all caught up in the heat of the moment and crying out that we'd all witnessed history being made. I'm not sure about that, but it was still very cool and I take my hat off to the guy. Do you think his wife's now suggested that maybe enough's enough?

The requirement to wear one was lifted as the plane was climbing. That seems awfully last minute to be changing the conditions of something that must have been as meticulously planned as this.
ETA: I expect that Aikins and his team have rather more experience than I do in planning insanely dangerous skydiving stunts so I would trust their judgement over mine in this matter.

Dangerous yes,but not as mad as me,i once said no,to my mother in law.The Doctor has told me the injuries will heal.
