Some great photos there. I'm imagining now what it'd be like to jump from those buildings. What speed would you hit the ground i wonder?
Terminal velocity for humans is around 120mph

Has anybody mentioned terminal velocity yet ...

I think that great heights induce a primeval fear in most people. The thing is that you are probably going to die even if you fall only 50 feet onto a hard surface so the other 1,000-odd feet are not going to make much difference. The risk of getting blown off a building probably does increase with altitude though.

Why did I look at those? I've now come over in a cold sweat and my mouse has gone clammy too!

Nowhere near as scary but a surprise none the less if you are not expecting it:
a) the CN tower in toronto has some glass floors near where you exit the lift! And now you can 'EdgeWalk' around the observation deck. Happily, if it was me, you have to be strapped on!
b) the Peak2Peak gondola at Whistler has a 'viewing' floor in about every 5th carriage.

Hi Shadow - didn't notice another Canadian in the Forum! One of my aims for next year's cross-country tour is to do the Edgewalk!

I went up the CN Tower with my University Rugby team, they were jostling and pushing each other on the glass floor. I had to get the lift back down asap.

Except, I fear, literally, that on the way down from 1000-odd feet you get time to consider your fate and imminent demise... and that thought truly terrifies me.

Bold. Hmmm, yes, well, that's one word you could use. Others might include 'insane', and....no, I think I'll stick with insane. I'm not surprised to hear he's 'the late'.
