I watch a bit of ski=jumpimg on Eurosport - I know, I know but it keeps me off the streets.

One of the things that amazes me is that they slide along the seat plank, unattached, wriggle around, slide their bottom off to adjust their position as if they're on a park bench. Not for me!

I manage 132m on the Holmenkollen game. Beat that!!

There has been a ski jump at Holmenkollen for many, many years. Do you mean the previous slope to the one in place now, Snorri? The one with a diamond-shaped structure on top? That was a very good-looking jump, imo. The new one hasn't quite the same classic lines. Incidentally, i live in a building designed by the same architect, Frode Rinnan. > That isnt a likeness of him by the way.

I can see why they keep their head down! So really they needed to account for that in the placing of the camera. It's like when you buy a helmet cam, and your fist film is all tarmac, and the second is all sky.

It was the old one, spectacular none the less, I had a few days in Oslo while cycle touring in 1998.

Watching the ski jumping live on TV now, Andreas fiddle just jumped 175.5 metres.

Hasn't someone suggested to him that he change his name!

Hehe.
I was in the german alps several years ago. At one point I realised I'd been walking around a large hill called fiddle! This amused me no end. I picked up a loose piece of whitish rock about the size of a walking boot and took it back to England to impress my friends. I'm not going to say how old I was.
