Hi Everyone,
I have just booked tickets to France in July which you all know can mean only one thing - le Tour. I am going on my own, not an organized tour, and planning on taking my road racing bike in a case. I would love any information and advice regarding logistics and so forth. But also suggested rides in and around the Alps.
I will be flying into CDG and then catching the TGV to Gap/Grenoble and then on to possibly Embrun before heading up to Guillestre (near Risoul) to see the end of stage 14. I have my accommodation booked there. I will then go south to Barcelonnette to base myself as I take on the famous 7 cols accessible from the town. Has anybody done this?
I am not actually chasing the tour - I just want to see at least one mountain stage and maybe the finish in Paris.
Thoughts anyone?!? Thanks.
