Any tips for a simple HRM which mounts on the handlebar? I have a watch but the alarm is not loud enough and I really just want a large number and audible alarm. I have that setup on my turbotrainer which is hooked up to a PC and it works well. I set a cautiously safe limit and back off the cadence if I hear the beep. A deep breath or so and the HR drops.
I'll be no good on hills but on the flat things are fine but, it's easy for the rate to go up without noticing it. I'm not keen on smartphone apps or flashy 'bike computers' with lots of functions, just a device with a nice big number that I can read and a nice load beep when I exceed my limit.
