thats is good news.

I too am a little confused as to how he got on the bike in the first place. You took lock out and went to lock bike, I assume you did this in front of the bike, then he gets on the bike in front of you and rides off with you standing there with heavy metal object in your hand.

Wow!

Good stuff Jiggery, that brought a smile to my face ;-)

To answer the lock quandry....

Embarassingly I was in a lock/rucksack Houdini type mess and had my back to the bike. You know the sort of mess you get yourself in to when you get stuck pulling a jumper over your head...well that was me.

Glad to hear you got your bike back. I had a similar incident some years ago. Some scrote cut the lock on my bike and pedalled off on it. What he hadn't noticed was that another scrote had previously undone the quick release to the front wheel. 50 yards down the road - front wheel and bike part company resulting in scrote's face impacting road surface.

it cost me a new set of forks - it cost scrote a broken jaw. Unfortunately he skipped bail and never made the court hearing (turned out that bike theft was a minor part of his repetoire...)

Unfortunately or fortunately the Village I live in is crawling with PCSO's due to the unsavoury nature of its youth and the supermarket has one on almost permanent standby for those people who dislike paying for their food & drink and my PCSO's had just stepped out of the pub where he had been seeing to another incident when my bike thief toppled over almost at his feet.

So I guess in the first instance the PCSO actually stopped o help the thief lol

I have a public service proposal. Your bike could benefit the community as a whole.

I reckon a few like-minded members of this forum could chip in and collectively purchase it. The proviso being that you leave it for collection cheap-chainlocked at the top of a steep hill leading to a busy T-junction. :bravo:

Got to keep that bike now!!!
My cheapo fixed at school is known to have people off, people ask me if they can have a go, i say yes, they get on it and shoot themself, and wont touch it again.
Which means the little shoots who would try and take it are to scared to take it, incase it damages them:becool:

I heard of a scrote who nicked a fixie in Sheffield, tried to freewheel down the first hill he came to, was still in plaster when his case came to court...

Excellent!;)

Thanks for sharing jiggery ;)

Though I think your bike should have had a Health & Safety warning on it ;).

Don't Decathalon bikes have a helmet decal on the top tube?
