Was a bit chilly on the ride in this morning but now it's 28 degrees up here in the E Midlands! Hotter than London!

Warmest day of the year so far and it's practically October.

Mental.

I am now getting heartily pee'd off with hearing about your day of sunshine.

Every bloody news bulletin is dedicating an inordinate amount of time to it.

So it's in the high 20's, big deal.

So you're in for a good weekend, fear not it will be back to the normal crap next week

Lol! I am glad I don't live in Spain, heat is not for me! I like it best when it's about 18 or 20 degrees. I'm afraid I have too much Norse blood in me to be able to tolerate much heat! Cold, on the other hand, is no problem ...

Bah it won't last.

Was in Japan last month - steady 33 degrees C day in, day out - brilliant. Didn't have the bike but enjoyed running. Somehow the humidity seemed to make me want to run forever (was running in the evening in the dark but the temperature didn't drop below 30 C) and felt much better than normal at the end of long runs.

If that's what it will be like here with global warming, bring it on!

Read this slowly, so you can understand the words coming from my keyboard.

Weather in the 20s to high 20s is unusual in the UK in September. Got it?

It's a bit like people who live in Norway that laugh about our inabiliity to cope with winter snow in the UK. Again - snow in the UK is unusual.

If it got very cold in Malaga in mid-summer for an extended period, I expect it would make the news, but there would be people working on an ice-station in the arctic who would be scoffing at your 'cold weather'.

+1

I would add that after a very mediocre summer overall this warm spell is probably the last hurrah before the weather begins its usual deterioration into autumn and winter, so why shouldn't we make a fuss and enjoy it?

I've just been out for a 15 miler and it was absolutely fantastic!

Isn't this what cycling is all about when the conditions are so good.

Long may it continue!!
