Jerusalem Farm campsite (as mentioned by Globalti above) is in a lovely spot but it is about 4 or 5 miles from Hebden Bridge... Cat I' the Well is only about 500 metres away via a footpath - take a torch!
If you want to be a bit nearer Hebden Bridge, you could try the New Delight Inn at Jack Bridge which has camping in an area out at the front of the pub. That's in a good spot for walking and MTB rides, being very close to part of the Mary Towneley loop (though that is pretty technical).
If you would like any help to plan a walk or a ride, let me know what kind of thing you'd like and I'll make a couple of suggestions. (If you have a GPS, I could knock up a GPX file or two for you.)
Oh, I know Alun - he's been on loads of my road rides round here! Thanks Colin, I'll take a note of that and we'll try both for size. I know the MT loop, Alun (of this parish) and I had a pop at it a couple of years ago but we didn't start early enough and had to cut it short before we got to the nrthern section round Widdop etc- it's a long way.
The most obvious flat cycle route round here is the Calder Valley Cycleway which runs along the valley. Some stretches of it are on the Rochdale canal towpath. You could descend to the valley at Luddenden Foot from Jerusalem farm, cross the A646 and get on to the CVC there and ride to Hebden Bridge that way. Mind you, it's a nice ride along Height Road from Midgeley to Pecket Well and you get great views from up there.I will certainly take you up on some GPS files later, thanks. This weekend though is one of leisurely strolls and gentle bike tours between pubs, my pal isn't a cyclist so I'm in charge of sorting out a couple of bikes (easy!) and sussing out a few gentle routes, so that will be nice.I'll have a glance at the OS map, it should become clear after that. I think I'll take the SS MTB for me, what I can't get up on a 32/16 (iirc) is out of scope for my pal with 3x9 gears, so that's a decent match.
Thanks folks for the advice. We ended up at the New Delight pub in Jack bridge, the closed road caused a bit of a crisis and having found the place late-on on Friday I couldn't get to it for roadworks and we had to go round. As in right round, about 6 miles. Ah well.
The weather was kind, we walked on Sat, BBQ Sat night, waited for the rain to clear on Sun am, then a leisurely bike stroll on Sun afternoon, followeed by a pint of Landlord in HB. It was just what the doctor ordered.
I will certainly be back shortly with a view to tackling more challenging stuff. Thanks again.
