Hedge cutting.

Farmers do tend to pick up after themselves, but they can't clean and clear up every single thorn and stick that can cause a puncture. Lets face it how many miles of hedges do they have have to cut.?

I can assure you that the farmers in my location do not pick up after themselves. I wish they did!

Never seen a farmer cut a hedge in my area, and never had a thorn in my tyre although I think that has more to do with the species of hedge rather than who cuts them.

As Colin mentions, we had a huge number of punctures after traversing half a mile of road where the farmer was trimming on the C2C. The teacher in charge should have told the kids to ride in the wheel tracks ad keep away from the middle and the edges where most of the debris was already collecting.

Mixed here. Some clean up but most don't. I've already had 2 punctures in August due to cuttings. Not happy with that.

I ended up sweeping quarter of a mile of cycle path myself last year coz no one cleaned up and the council ignored my request to clear it.

Are the farmers obliged to clear up, like they are with mud on the roads? (I know they don't always clear that up, but they're meant to....)

Went through a load on the Upton Magna road last Thursday on my ride. No puncture by the end of my ride, but this has reminded me to check before Friday's trip!!

One of them once came in the back door and tried to make a home underneath my bookcase. I was mixing records at the time - I guess hedgehogs like techno.
