Just saying hi, this forum doesn't look as snobby as others I have looked at. I am in the market for a £500-£600 road bike and a review on a b twin put me on here. Nice to meet you, my name is Matt and I look forward to some quality advice, cheers all the best.

Good value bikes

I have recently bought a Bianchi Via Nirone for £635 - beautiful frame! Also recommended to me by friends were Giant Defy range - several models at £500 ish upwards. Several of my triathlete friends have these and swear by them, especially the Defy 3.5 - good value.

I believe Mr C Boardman has a worthy competitor in the £600 road bike class - available from Halfords. The Edinburgh Bicycle Cooperative also do a good range of "own brand" Revolution bikes with the "Continental 2010" models worth a look(starting at £499 - with a 15% off sale due soon).

New to the forum and new to road bikes, also got a via nirone sora which has been ace as a first bike!!
