Hello and welcome. Very adventurous of you to consider a trip like that especially in a "foreign" country. One thing to remember is that it is much colder up north, in Scotland especially.

I have one your US bikes, a '92 Schwinn Traveler, lovely bike. We tend to get all the "throw outs" from the States and Europe down here.

Sorry I can't help you with the darts question.

Good Luck.

Hi Bruce

Great ride you have planned there. I cycled to John O'Groats from Bath (not Land's End) - but I did cycle back home again! I can only re-iterate what Colin has said: rain has become a more or less permanent feature in northern Europe recently, so you can expect lots of it - and as Scotland is one of the wettest places in Europe, best take good waterproofs! Another thing to consider is wind: northern GB can have really strong, unpredictable winds. I was once stuck in my tent for two days because of wind - couldn't even walk in it! The other thing I think you should be prepared for is midges: they can be dreadful at certain times of the year.
