Just found this website after doing some random google searches, so thought Id say hi. Been commuting between East London and the City for just over 3 years now. One accident and three bikes later im still going. Trust me it sounds worse than it is. First bike old MTB I found in my wives shed. Too heavy. Then bought a Pinnacle Meanstreak which was quite good. Lasted me 18mths then I had a nasty fall down a pothole, leading to the bike being totally smashed. Now onto number three. A GT Transeo, not really tough enough but apart from back wheel hubs seems OK.

Considering a Cyclo cross bike now thinking they will be tougher and also have drop handlebars which I prefer.

BTW sued local council succesfully, more than covers damage me for a bike and the little finger I broke.

Welcome, THM.

Another Transeo owner here. Mine's so far survived all the abuse I've thrown at it (including my attempts at maintenance).

My only problem is rear wheel hubs/axles, go through one every 6 months or so. Have tried to change my cycling style a bit to cater for it and hopefully I can get more use out of them.

My Meanstreak felt stronger and required less maintenance but it didnt survive being run over by a transit van in above mentioned pot hole incident.

The Transeo was good value when i bought it and I fancied changing to a more road style Hybrid from the Meanstreaks more MTB style.

For the money its proven to be an OK bike.
