Hello everyone thanks for accepting me , I am in my 60s and have retired for health reasons,so I am trying to walk and get into cycling. I am currently using a Mountain bike with a view to getting something more suitable for roads etc , a bit bewildered by the various terminology ( road bike , racer , gravel bike etc) lol
Basically I want something as easy to ride as possible = enjoyment and hopefully I will stick at it .
Any advice is appreciated
Cheers 👍😀

Hello!

Essentially when it comes down to it, a bike is a bike is a bike, regardless of what it is intended for, so don't be too bewildered.

That said, a bike for roads but also maybe just day to day stuff... A 'Hybrid'?

The biggest issue is tyres, you see, a road bike tends to have very thin and fine tyres, so will be prone to punctures just about anywhere but on the road (and even then...), But there are more robust tyres out there too, which wont look too out of place on a road bike or close equivalent, i.e. a Hybrid.
