I am a sad product of our celebrity obsessed times. Even when I see or meet people off this forum, I feel like I'm in the presence of some kind of superstar.

Of course, last night, this was more true than of many other occasions when I managed to pant out a hello to Origamist at a set of lights. He asked me how I recognised him, was it because he was wearing black? Duh, no, it was because he is so blinkin' fast, it could only be him.

Good to meet you, Matt. If that is your typical evening comute time then we are unlikely to cross paths again in the evening as I usually head home a bit later than that (had to get home early for my eldest's parents' evening - stellar report - v chuffed dad). I have on occasions seen you in the morning though.

I saw orgamist this morning. It's been a while. If you take cs7, there are several of us that use that road.

Currently in exile in Nottingham, I do plan one day to return to London - one day when I can get a job that will enable me to afford to live there!

I reckon I'm pretty fast. I reckon I could give that Origamist a run for his money.

Sadly I'm not sure I could ever bring myself to live south of the river ;)

It was good to meet you last night, B&B, although it's always a bit discombobulating when someone addresses you by a silly username whilst at the lights (why I did not call myself MattL on cycling fora is beyond my ken).

I've almost remembered your name, but I'm blaming the lack of oxygen to my brain for the confusion (it was either Paul or Mark - def New Testament, but not sure if you're the gospel writer or the chap who liked his letters).

I invested in a white and blue Solo Equipe gilet yesterday and promptly dropped it on my drivechain after trying it on! Its now got link marks on the white band (how will I get them out?) - this reminds me why I go for the Johnny Cash look 90% of the time...

Let me know if you find out - I've got cog/chain marks on most of my clothes, in fact the jumper I'm wearing in the office right now has got a lovely cog print on the left sleeve.

Mmm, will bleach do the job on white fabric? I'll have to do a pin test!

I commute from Clapham to the City, near Guildhall (and back again). Oddly, since CS7 came into being I have preferred to travel in via Brixton and the A23 but pick up CS7 at Oval. I'm on a green Condor Pista and tend to favour black kit also (for the same reason that it tends to hide dirt quite well - and I once read that it was the new hi-viz on account of the fact that people now have hi-viz blindness and black stands out much better against a sea of bright colours....)

Yes, it's Paul although with no connections whatsoever to anything biblical. And, yes, it's a little weird introducing oneself by one's username. Particularly in earshot of other people.

I did once get chain grease on a white top and had the bright idea to use a degreaser on it. It made a horrible mess....
