evening all

i am a returning member and not sure the best category to post this under??

I am looking for a bit of help from someone who has installed i'm not sure what the best thing to call them is but eyebolt things that you can screw into the wall or floor of your shed so you can then padlock your bike when its in the shed??

Just had my 2 boardmans stolen from my shed managed to get a decent payout from my insurance company but a bit reluctant to store my bike back in there without some form of additional security.

any advice or other ideas for keeping it safe in shed much appreciated?

Cheers

Hello :welcome: back, sorry to hear you had your bikes stolen. Can't give you any advise but I expect someone will be along shortly that can help.

There is also the shed shackle which fits to the wall of the shed. So long as you can fix a ground anchor in,, then you should be ok. What's the surface under the shed like ?

Here's my security measure, 10 inch coach bolts straight through the wall and out the other side, nuts fastened then welded, the buggers ain't pinching our bikes without a rather noisy cutting tool

I got mine on eBay. I believe I paid £18 each bike which included shackle, chain and lock, I had to buy the bolts separately obviously.

As long as I breathe, I attack.
You can cut a hole in the base of the shed if its sat on a concrete drive/ slabs and install a floor anchor
Get a old bucket , fill with cement and stick an old d lock in it as an anchor
Shed shackle for mounting to the wall of a shed

I am looking at the above myself .
My shed has steel anchors screwed into the shed frame with security screws that you cant undo , the same on the door hinges and locks along with a window so small and high you cant see or climb into it .
Wood is tongue and groove to make it a bit harder to get into
main lock is a padlock protector sort so they cant get cutters onto the padlock backed up with a standard motorbike padlock
Bikes are chained to the wall anchors using motorbike type chains with same as outside padlocks
Roof and wall panels are screwed to each other with L shaped metal brackets to make it more difficult to just rip a panel off .
Shed is positioned so it cannot be seen from the road.
Looking at getting a noisy shed alarm , currently have those dummy security cameras front and back .
I read somewhere that installing a second layer of board / chicken wire on the inside of the walls makes another layer for the theif to break and might put them off, looking at that as well in the future.

In an ideal world i would like a concrete shed or the asgard bike storage solutions

But i had to go with a "security shed "

I know that all my plans will not stop a determined well tooled thief but i just try to make it as hard as possible with what i have got.

welcome back
be incredibly careful with security now as a lot of the time people will get a second break in from the same idiots 2 or 3 weeks after their first one! :cursing:
if you have a mrs and if she is a bit understanding and your house isn't too small then try to keep any bikes in the house for the moment i plan to keep atleast my best bike in my bedroom when my dads finished building the new house (current bedroom is a small one shared by 3 brothers)
Cheers Ed
