Greetings, Waffly! I trust you and husband and extremely rapid offspring are all in fine fettle? You may (or may not) be interested to know that there is a proposal to create a moderated peer of the Other Place.

Greetings MrB. I have made comment about urcm on the relevent part of Usenet.

The last year has been not the best for Mr WC, nor I.

The offspring is hardly on the bike - he's concentrating on matters academic. He's got his final year at the UEA coming up, so that is coming first, which is fair enough. He is now back home and can be seen in the garage fettling...

Mr WC snapped his achilles tendon not once, but twice. As a result he had over six months in plaster and time after that gaining back muscle and strength, so yours truly was on official chauffeur duties. Fair enough, in sickness and in health was part of the deal. As much as I quite enjoy driving, many a week I was doing about 1000 miles and that left no time for cycling. And I never did manage to work out entirely healthy food at motorway service stations... Then - driving MrWC's car, I could not get a comfortable seating position, so ended up with a hugely painful left hip and leg on top of a case of CCAS. Once MrWC was getting back to health & mobility, to cut a long story short, I knackered my knees and tore/strained calf muscles in both legs. So I am now FAT due to lack of exercise and not enough uber-healthy eating.:laugh:

Still... I am now back sur velo, albeit with total loss of fitness and I am having to take it very easy due to my left knee in particular. Being back sur velo is unbridled joy, even though I am so unfit at the moment. But the only way is up.

Today's handy tip for cyclists: Always keep your rim clean and in good order as you don't want a crack in your rim.
