Hello all

Been having a good read thru the forum, lots of great tips / advise.

Think I've needed a bit of moral support tonight! After about 6 months commuting, I came off last Friday, wasn't badly hurt just shook me a little. Back to work tomorrow and if I'm honest I'm a bit nervous. Hoping it was pass once I get going.

Sorry to hear about your accident. The good news is there won't be many people on the road tomorrow. Take care. Glad you weren't hurt.

Hello and welcome to Cycle Chat.

Sorry to hear of your off. Not nice, but unfortunately it is part of a commute. Not many cyclists have gone through their whole cycle commuting life without having an off for one reason or the other.

Glad to hear you were not badly hurt. Sound's like your confidence has taken a bit of a bashing. It's a good thing that the roads will be a bit quieter tomorrow then usual with many people taking the week of for holidays. So that will help make things a little easier on the commute for you.

Just take it easy and you'll be soon back into the swing of things.

Welcome Sharon, and sorry about your off! :hugs:(moral support smiley ^_^)
As said above, the roads are quiet now, bet if you jump on the bike your nervousness will go away after a couple of miles.
Hope you are not too sore, falling off happens sometimes, don't be discouraged.

Hi and a warm :welcome: to you Sharon.
You will be OK. Falling off the bike is often a bit of a shock to the system. But, hey, it happens.
It will certainly pass once you get going.
Have a happy New Year.

Welcome to the website
after being knocked off your bike it will take a while to get your confidence back, like Pat said, the roads are quiet now, so you should be ok. just take your time and lets us know how you get on.

Thanks for your support guys!

Good luck. You have done it once, so it should get easier. Well done. Just take things easy.

Hi and :welcome: Sharon.

Hope your ride home was okay. As already mentioned, anyone who commutes has had some incident or other - in my case I learned that having knobbly tyres does not equal having grip in the wet.

Cycling home was like cycling into a brick wall every few minutes. I'd read an article about cycling into a head wind recently and it suggested gearing down, well I ran out of gears! Was shattered when I got home.
