Hello,
New to forums of any kind but not to cycling.
I am what you call a seasonal cyclist. I choose to ride the 14 miles to work and back from April to September each year.
I ride from Hollinwood to Failsworth where I join route 66 the Rochdale canal to Manchester.
This is not the most scenic ride but pleasent enough, and the most irritating feature is the amount of broken glass that can be found when approaching the locks and bridges. :sad:Oh! and the ocassional flooded path because lock gates have been pushed open by some bored individuals.
I have counted more narrowboats passing through this stretch of canal this year and I hope they continue to grow.;)
I have also noted this year that low lying trees that stretch across paths have not been cleared:sad:
after reading some comments and ideas in the forum I think I will give Hebden Bridge to Rochdale a try some weekend and maybe I can persuade my husband to give it a go.
Is there any one else out there who uses this route to avoid the daily drudge of public transport.

Hi and welcome Sally.
