Personally, I prefer an ordinary camera mounted to the bike. All the videos on VeloWeb/VeloWebLog are created with this method.
I find the viewpoint much more interesting plus stability and quality is superior to most helmet-mounted cams.
The only restriction is that the camera can't be quickly re-aimed via "swivel" head.
