Helmet camera

Hi can anyone give me any advice on helmet/bicycle cameras please. I've never seen one in action or used one do people predominantly use one recording forward or back or both? Are they better used on your helmet or on your bicycle or in my case tricycle? Does it reduce your bicycle insurrance? My renewal quote is £900 so making it affordable for both this & the camera/s is important as Im unable to work due to my disability. Any help is very much appreciated thank you

Hi Iain,

I have a hedcam bullet camera and am very happy with it. I got it from www.hedcamz.co, and they have been really good with th eaftersales service as well. Mine is a simple , small, lightweight camera that I can fit on my helmet, around my head on a strap, or on the handlebars. It has a memory card (8gb standard but I upgraded to 32mb) It's easy to charge, and upload video to your laptop. It has a time date stamp on it so any incident has accurate timing info as well. It's cheap ish at around £100 (or it was when I got mine anyway)

I have no idea about insurance.

ask insurance company about the insurance matter, but i doubt it
my dad has a muvi one we got for him and it cost about £30-£50 i don't remember now but that works good

Thanks guys that does look good I may record the front & back to be extra safe as I've been knocked off my motorbike & left for dead before.
HEDCAM HD WIDE CAMCORDER 2ND GENERATION is showing as £109 on their offiicial website which is affordable & with a recrding loop that's a great feature.

heard of glasses cams as gimmick 'spy glasses'but at that price maybe not a gimmick no idea if the are any good though
