This is pretty unintelligible I'm afraid- it reminds me of a John Prescott interview.

Would you like me to copy out the stuff from my AS PE revision book?
You dont really know what intrinsic and extrinsic are do you? Admit it. You didnt know till i said what it is.
Your guessing at something.

Oh, I can assure you I do.

You hadn't noticed that I was in fact replying to Lee, referring to his earlier post that you also appeared to disagree with, in as much as it is possible to decipher your meaning...

I know you were replying to Lee. I just like to disagree with lee

What do you actually do Jonesy?

yeah, joe, be careful. Don't mess with town planners... or whatever

I thought he was some guy that went around researching random stuff to write articles about or something.
Not really doing much useful stuff.

No it's not, most people cycle to get fit, as a mode of transport eg commuting or well being - they like to go out for a ride.
How do you know what motivates most people to cycle? Done any proper research? Or read any?

People come off in cycling whether it be in the Tdf, the local race or going down to the shops. So no I don't accept that at all.

In which case you accept that 'sports' has nothing to do with it, so actually you accept my criticism of your earlier post! ;)

So of I go shopping on my bike, is that an intrinsic or extrinsic cycle ride?

Well it cant really be classed as any.
Your doing it instead of taking the car, and to save yourself money on petrol, so your doing it to save money. But you will really just be using your bike as a mode or transport.
If you took a nice scenic route mind to add in a few more miles, you would be doing it intrinsicly, and would just be stopping on route to get some supplies.

If my brain is working right at this time of night. I only had a short nap earlier:sad:

so come on jonesy? are you a kick ass town planner or not? Are you the fonz of the traffic lights?

No, I'm not a town planner. In any case, town planners don't usually deal with traffic lights. That's a transport planner, but I'm not one of them either.

(6000 posts - another milestone in my sad journey)

Let me be the first to congratulate you!

Afraid I must now turn in, but you'll have achieved something this evening if you can convince Joe of the need to write intelligible posts, and Lee of the need for logic and consistency!

when's that? ;)

Bahaha.

I've never been convinced one way or the other, but that's probably because sometimes I do wear one (out 'training', bsically any time on the road bike, high speeds, tighter cornering, more time on the bike), and sometimes I don't (on way to school, on 'hybrid'). Not sure if it's sensible reasoning but that's the reasoning that I work with.
