Helmet lights for commuting

I honestly don't see the need for helmet lights, and even on low settings they can be a problem for motorists.
Every time you move your head your flashi ng your light in all directions.
If I was on the other side of the road I wouldn't be thinking " cyclist" I'd be " wtf?!"

Agree that main lights for road use shouldn't be helmet mounted. The one situation I find a helmet light beneficial though is at roundabouts. Smart used to make an inoffensive small helmet light that was sufficient when flashing to get without any risk of blinding. Unfortunately they don't seem to do them any more.

I currently have an 80lm evans own FWE brand on my helmet Its small, its cheap and its very light (pardon the pun) Its not gonna light up your world but even at the lowest setting it still throws a decent amount of light without blinding.

from the running man and people will still find a way to somehow hit or sidescrape you.

you need all the attention you can get without having to drag a hapless driver out of his car and beating him with your helmet when he accidently gives you a love tap.
