Helmet noise

I'm a recent convert to the cycling helmet. What I notice is the amount of noise it causes.

I've got a good Met helmet bought at Ironman UK 70.3 when my son's one failed the test ( that's the one I used for races) now I've got one I thought I had better use it.

The straps are straight and tight

It this normal?

I don't go fast enough to generate wind noise.

I always get very sweaty under my helmet ...

My Met Stradivarius does whistle a little at speed..not annoyingly, but i'm aware it does that sometimes.

If I get fast enough, my Atmos tends to want to fly. It's also a huge drag bucket of wind resistance, rather annoying. Maybe I'll go back to putting the camera on the bike and the helmet in the boot.

This, together with the distraction in my peripheral vision, was why I concluded that helmets offered no net gain in safety.

Ive never noticed any problems with peripheral vision....hang on, i'm going downstairs to check (the wife'll probably think i'm nuts )

All i can see is a tiny bit of the slightly pointed protrusion right above my forehead, and i've got to look up to see that. I can't see the sides of the helmet by my temples, the straps...anything at all !
