Hi all! I'm looking to get into gravel riding, so I'm in the market for a new bike. I have been looking at both the Kona Jake the Snake ($1500) and the Salsa Journeyman Claris 650b ($850). Going with the Salsa would save some dough, but I really like the look of the Jake the Snake. Could some veterans out there help me choose between the two? Is one a much better value than the other? If I go with the less expensive one, will I be missing out?
I'm looking to ride dirt roads and keep up with friends on entry level road bikes on the asphalt. Right now I'm riding the roads on a hardtail mountain bike, which isn't exactly ideal.
