Hello all,

Can anyone recommend any good books, DVD's website's etc on cycling and road bikes for someone that has not got a clue. I in the RAF so have a good level of fitness but cycling is new to me. I have entered a charity ride from London to Paris (June 2013) to raise money for Help 4 Heroes.

Many thanks

I could mention a few but this is a family forum

Good luck with your charity ride, however. A worthy cause!

Here. Just ask away.

Just a quick question for you. I have had a look at road bike sizing guides and spoken to few people but keep getting different answers. What frame size should i be looking at? (I am 6f )
Is the below size right:
Large bottom bracket to top tube = 54cm which is equivalent to our standard 60cm frame

Top tube length is key to. I ride a 54cm frame and I am 5 9, but that's a straight top tube. Compact fram then I would be looking at about 48 or 50

Best thing is to try a few out.

Cheers for that.

I know alot of people on here dont like Halfords, but they are offering me the biggest discount over all for the charity ride. So which bike would you buy out of these 3 and why?
