Hi all,
I have a somewhat esoteric research question that I hope you'll be able to help with me. I'm trying to identify the type of bike (specifically, the manufacturer of the bike and the general years of manufacture) for the bicycle being ridden by the man in this scene from 'Offret' [The Sacrifice] by Andrei Tarkovsky (1986).

I'm writing a research paper on the symbology of the bicycle in this film, and suspect that having a better idea about exactly what sort of bicycle is being used will be helpful for my paper. To give some context:
- Tarkovsky is very intentional with his set design, so I suspect that the choice of the bicycle in this film is not haphazard.
- Though filmed in 1986, the film is set in a sort of parallel present.
- The movie is filmed, I believe, in Sweden.
- The man using the bicycle is a postman.
- The bicycle is a type of utility bicycle, but that's all I know.
I know this might be a shot in the dark, but it might also be interesting for you to look into. Let me know if you might be able to turn up anything, and let me know if you might have any questions. I will give you credit in my paper as such. Thanks!
