I would be obliged if someone could spare a moment to help me identify the manufacturer of 631 steel frame.

I have recently purchased this bike from Ebay as a replacement commuter.

The frame is marked as 631 and has a frame number of LS11050026 but no indication of who constructed the frame.

Any help would be most welcome

Contact Wheelcraft who built it?

The frame has been repainted and the 631 sticker added - so there's no guarantee that the frame is even 631 originally.

Does he not have a telephone either?

I understand that he has. However, I'm sure he has a hundred and one other things which are far more important than running around digging out information for someone, who is just mildly curious, who did not even purchase the bike from him in the first place. I have to admit I try and refrain from pi$$ing people off.

Think I may just do something a bit old fashioned and write him a letter (with SAE of course). He can then decide if he wishes to reply or not.

Can I suggest email as a compromise. Like a letter, but sent over the telephony network. Win-win situation.
He isn't on email apparently as an earlier post above

I don't see what the issue is with picking up the phone. If the builder is into his bikes as the eBay posts suggest, I can't imagine he'll be averse to a chat even if the OP didn't buy the bike originally
