Help identifying Raleigh bike

Hi, I have this old Raleigh bike. I wondered if anyone could help me and say which model/year it is?
It's been painted over in purple but the original colour was yellow.

I’d be willing to bet thats a Raleigh Team Banana hiding under that tasteful coat of hammerite.

1990/92 I think.

I stupidly paid a mobile bike mechanic to fix it up to be rideable, but apart from changing the back tyre I basically got swindled. I should have just given it away to a restoration enthusiast.

I'm not great at this game but from the cotterless cranks I'd say it's '80s onward.. the obvious choice being the Team Banana as others have already suggested.

Looks like you need to get the seat sorted (clamp round the right way and a lot lower, unless you've set it up that way for a reason) also the extension of the stem looks like it's pushing it so I'd be inclined to hunt around under the paint for the min insertion line and adjust as appropriate.

Looks like a decent ride adjustment and shonky paint job notwithstanding

I would say a Banana. The yellow paint under the purple crossbar tends to suggest it.

Looking to sell it. Like I said, I would have just gifted it to a restorer or enthusiast if I hadn't spent that money getting it repaired.

I restored one earlier this year, (paid £30 for it) looks the same, you could remove the purple paint with thinners. Horrible job though.
