something that has been overlooked here is this.
Someone turns up on their bike for a quick and easy job, for example they neen new brake cable ,tire or brake blocks.
You will need to have some spares at hand, you could of course pick up a few bits off ebay or the local bike shop.
Then u have to charge extra, a good reliable supplier that wont ask you to buy in hundreds is on the cards.
If u dont you may find yourself running about in the car eating up the proffit.
People are tight with their money nowdays (yes i am) lol
Just a thaught...

It is a thought that has not escaped me. Fortunately for me there is a wholesalers nearby who I think will be able to meet my requirements. I'm going to get a few basics in like cables, brake blocks, tubes etc in the most common sizes and varieties. After all the tiny bit of money I've got sitting in the bank isn't earning me anything there so what the heck.

Indeed there is a local bike recycling scheme and I have just emailed them to offer them my services and to gain further experience. *fingers crossed*
Top banana.
Just a quick update to say I have a meeting arranged with the guy who runs the local bike recycling scheme next week so with any luck this will be a good place to start with my hands on experience. Looking forward to helping these guys and putting something back into the community.

Advertising costs money, lots of it. Remember you are going to need a lot of £20 jobs to earn a living. Get that insurance in place before you start working on your own customers bikes.
