After re-discovering just how much fun cycling is, I'm about to up-grade my bike from a heavy cheap mountain bike that I've had for about 4 years to a hybrid bike.

I'm looking at 2 bikes and need some feedback as I really don't know that much about bikes. The 2 bikes are:

Claud Butler Urban 500 and
Specialized Sirrus Elite

Any help will be appreciated

Thanks

Hi. You need to take them out on sizable test rides. Your LBS should be able to help but you usually need to leave a credit card payment with them as security (at least in Bristol). See if you can borrow them for a couple of days or over a weekend or something. Also don't make your mind up on just these 2 as you may find a cheaper alternative that is as good or better.

Whilst both bikes are 'good', are either of them right for you? Only one way to find out.

Hi Kitty Kebab, And welcome.

I am sure people will be able to offer reviews of both these bikes for you. I don't ride either but do ride a really old Claud Butler aluminum frame mountain bike. It was a really good spec when I bought it and it still rides really well today, no creaks, rattles or nasty issues.

Frame has held up really well, with no fatigue and I hope to keep riding her form many years to come.

So, if the modern Claud's are of the same caliber, you'll be very happy.

Good luck

Welcome to the forum, I tried out a Sirrus many years ago and it was a really zippy commuter- don't know about the Claud Butlers though. As echoed above the best way is to go and try them out for feel and fit.
