Hercules Ladies frame number mystery

Having recently picked a very crusty, but seemingly very original, ladies Hercules (1936 Empire Club OA, I think), I cannot find a frame number to confirm my id where I would expect.

Dropouts are the only places I haven't checked. Took pics of most of the elements too. Dropouts are the next to check then. I did drop the wheels but didn't spot anything, but I have yet to clear the crud off

Taken the paint back to the original black enamel on the dropouts but no numbers, and no sign on the lugs for the seat or the gooseneck either (though I haven't taken all the overpainting off on the last two).
