A review of a product you've yet to use?

Would be v interested to find how you get along with it. Are you going to use it on lit roads or country lanes etc?

I have 2 identical ones bought from ebay for a non cycle related purpose.

They're fine for my use but I think you may find the focus adjustment a bit too free moving for bike use. I'd also be a bit concerned about dazzling other people. The strobe is very fast and I find it instantly annoying, you may be more tolerant of it, and you'll certainly be noticed.

One thing you'll be happy with - they're bright. Another, if you use Lithium batteries*, is that they last a reasonable time on a charge.

*You need the shell extension for those

Those lights will not cut the mustard for long unlit stretches, i should know i have tried it with 2 of the same sort and you can just about make out where your going but you really need something like a magicshine or xml t6 at the budget end of the market to the more expensive lights .
I currently use a mj808 e with the sealed battery pack with the led display and i can ride at full speed on any section at any time of day .

you can call it a pre-review....based on standing in my garage with the light off and shaking my bike around with the light connected....it is very good
Now try them on the road, the only way in which to gauge how well they work

I have the same light as a backup and while I admit not amazing find them fine on unlit heavily wooded lanes on the max setting as long as you are not expecting to break any speed barriers. Though I would agree xmlt6 magic shine clones are probably a better bet for regular night riders. They can be had for 25 quid if you shop around at that much if it only lasts a year or two it is no great loss.

You can pick up a magicshine /xml t6 for around £30 if you can wait a month or so on import, or pay more for a uk supplier for fast delivery.
This is what i have, $58 so err around £37 dependamnt on what exchange rate you can get .

If you prefer to have the batteries in the torch then you can similar poweed torches but with just 2 batteries so they do not last as long[/quote
Shop around on ebay I got mine for 25 quid from a uk seller. They are rather good but for the love of god ensure the travel adapter you use is fused the one that came with mine was not which is bloody dangerous. I should add I am using the a clone version but doubt there is a massive difference.
