Filtered past a queue today, into the ASL, in front of a bus.

Lights changed and I was away first (going from the vicky to victoria road round the side of queen's park, for those that know the south side). I was cycling into two lanes, left hand lane full of parked cars. Just outside the door zone there are loads of manhole covers so I moved right and took primary in the right hand lane.

The next set of lights were red. Me and the bus were both turning right so I stayed in primary. The bus moved to the left, straddled two lanes and pulled along side. The driver opened his window, looked at me and said....

"That was a steady 27mph big man - not bad going at all"
;)

We then had a quick chat about my journey, route and cycle computer/speedo, before the lights changed and he waved me on ahead.

Cheers to the driver of the "66". Made my day!

Nice One Stig, the 66 driver too :-)

good going Stig:smile: - I just love my new trigger gear changes, I can get up to speed away from lights so much easier and quicker than the old twist grips;). I've really noticed how even a poor cyclist like me can out accelerate quite a bit of the traffic, but no-one's congratulated me yet:biggrin::biggrin:

It's good to know that for all the complaints there are still some good and friendly drivers around, most have made you feel happy for the ride, Stig!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Write to first and let them know about your good experience. It might just encourage other drivers to do the same!
