Hi from a newbie...Sort of!

Hi just getting back into cycling after along while off.
Couple of questions really.
I have a Giant Cadex bike with i bought of a friend quite a while ago,Once i am in a fit enough state,i intend to cycle from Lands End to John O'Groats.
Would this be a decent bike for the trip?
It is light,comfortable and fairly quick.

Yes it does have mounting points for racks and guards,already has a rack fitted ..

Is the cadex the one with carbon tubing and aluminium lugs? No reason why you shouldn't do LEJOG on it. By the time you've got lots of miles in you should have a good idea of any changes you might want to make. You might want to try some audax rides - good practice for long-distance riding.

yes it is the Cadex that you have mentioned,the bike is getting on a bit i suppose,but it still does the job.

Haven't done huge miles,the bike seems comfy enough,as i am not much of a cycling "guru",the saddle with is on the bike is a Trekking saddle with is sprung,so i suppose time will tell.
