Hi all,
who'd have though it. After a half-lifetime, of always being a part-time cyclist, seeing me through village-kid-days, school, teenage pre-car days, university, cycling to work, and always having a pub bike kicking around somewhere.... I find my cycling is actually something I enjoy, and look forward to.
So it's not just a useful tool to pop down the pub, or nip round to a mate's who has no parking outside his house, or a way of beating the morning traffic queue, or a convenient way of getting back from the garage when I've dropped the car off for an MOT, or a way of giving the dog a good run..... Nope, it turns out it's something I like doing, and it turns out, always have done. So why has it taken me 54 years to realise this? Slow learner I guess.
So having grown up in the Yorkshire Pennines at the top of a 14% hill, with my 13th-Birthday-present Carlton Cobra, I now find myself at the other end of the spectrum, in the flatlands of the East Anglian Fens which makes for easier cycling, although I do miss those views!....
Anyway, hi all.
