Good evening....

Firstly: I'm a MTBer. However: Of late I've found myself spending nearly all of my cycling time on the road in sunny Devon.

With that in mind, I feel I'm missing a trick. I'm going like stink to achieve average speeds of 15mph and despite a long burning urge to achieve a century, I've topped out at 71 miles.

Because of this I'm looking at the possibility of buying a road bike, my MTB mates will call me all sorts of rude names for evening thinking about crossing over to the dark side, but I feel this is the way things are going, and I may be willing to make the change.

I have a wife and two young children [Ages 4 and 2], so I'll always hang on to my Cannondale MTB, for when I go out pedaling with them. But for miles and performance on days out alone, I'm looking at RB's.

North Devon or (spit) South Devon? ;) Only the former counts..........

Just kidding of course. Welcome to the forum.

As long as I breathe, I attack.
71 miles and 15 average on a MTB is good going , on a road bike a century would be a lot easier, to appease your mates go CX and stick slicks on it for the road or just get that roadie and train so you can burn them up

Thanks for the welcome.

Grew up in Torquay, but now live in Newton Abbot - Both of which in South Devon.

I am familiar with North Devon though, I love Bideford town, and have also cycled the Tarka Trail a couple of times [Once from Meeth to Braunton and back. The other from Great Torrington to Ilframcombe and back]
