Hi, I'm sure you'll like Gosforth. It's a nice part of Newcastle.

I'm a bit further up the coast & there are other north easterners on here.

Tell us about your bikes.

Thank you for the welcome! I'm all about American muscle! Trek Emonda and a Trek Checkpoint. Have been known to stray in favour of Italian royalty, love me a nice Colnago!

Rode today from Gosforth, out via Stannington, Tranwell, Whalton, Ponteland, Horton Grange, Dinnington and home to Gosforth again. It rained so much! I once did a river crossing in a Mountain Bike race and was drier than I was after the ride today!

:welcome: +1. I'm often found out in the area so will look out for someone a lot younger and fitter than me going fast!

Some nice cafes about... Capheaton Tea rooms, Matfen Village Store and Cafe, Bolam Lake Cafe, and Jan's Kitchen in Ponteland!

Thanks for that! I'll be sure to check them out.
About a month back I took a ride out and cannot tell you where and how I went, but I came back past Bolam into Belsay. The tailwind was insane, and coming into Belsay on that winding road I felt like a Tour de France rider with all the cars behind me refusing to pass!
