Hi everbody, the name is Tom. I'm from Leeds but will be moving to Harrogate soon.

Haven't ridden a bike in years but am into running and want to get into cycling and do a triathlon or duathlon at some point, I would like to do a marathon but 26 miles of just running could get tedious!

Look forward to getting to know everyone and more about cycling and training.

Hi Tom & welcome to the forum.

If I were to live somewhere else, Harrogate would be top of my list - my missus loves the shops there.

Do a few forum rides and you'll have a great time; if you need advice on anything (not just fettling bikes) you'll nearly always receive a helpful reply !

I commute into Leeds from Dewsbury at the moment - I'm also doing the reverse; adding running & swimming onto cycling and aiming for my first tri early next year.

Hi Tom, welcome to the forum.

There's lots of advice in the beginners forum about which bike to choose. I think you'll find cycling a lot more fun than running.

If you're looking at a cycling club there's:

Harrogate Nova http://www.harrogatenova.com/ - I know a couple of their members
Cappucino Cycling Club http://cappuccinoclub.co.uk/ - on the Otley sportive they were determined not to do their share in the group :ninja:
Wheel Easy http://www.wheel-easy.org.uk/ - for non-lycra riders!
