Hi!

I am a beginner wanting to get into cycling. I have had 3 bikes in the last year.

I first bought a Toys r Us bike for £100. I realised it was CRAP and gave it to my father.
I then went to halfords and bought an Apollo Slant for £180. Realised it was crap and gave it to my girlfriend.

Ive recently just bought a Giant Roam2 2014 from my LBS for £499.

I can really feel the difference in terms of quality and feel. I know its still quite a low budget bike for most of you, but for my beginner needs, it fits my requirements.

Looking forward to becoming part of the cycling world!

Hi and :welcome:
As you say, the bike suits your requirements.
There are lots of folks here who ride budget bikes for the same reason you do.
There are some nice bikes in the 'budget' range and if you want something a bit more upmarket you can always go for second hand and still maintain a low budget.
Good luck with your new bike and enjoy.
I had a 'budget' Viking lightweight hybrid for a long time and it was very good.
I eventually passed it on to my Son,who was in need, and he finds it also very good. It suits his requirements.

Thanks everyone

Just done a fairly long ride of 2 hours. (long for me!) My legs feel like jelly.

Can I just say cyclists are the friendliest people out there. Every single cyclist I passed acknowledged me with a smile or a 'Morning!'

Oh ,we are such nice people.:wahhey:.
Glad you enjoyed your ride.:bravo:
Don't forget to give yourself some recovery time. It's important. A day off won't hurt. If you do go out tomorrow, pedal easy.:bicycle:
