Welcome to CC!

Once you've got a few miles under your belt, improved your fitness and been out on a CC forum ride, you'll be after a road bike.

And on the forum when not on your bike!

Enjoy yourself here; it's a lot of fun!

Well done, Donna. Last night was pretty windy - I hate going out in the wind

Anne.

P.S. I'm in Blyth, but get up to Shiremoor, Whitley Bay, etc. quite a lot

Hello Donna, my mum's from Walker and we used to holiday up there visiting her mum each year so I know of the places you're mentioning. Plenty of choice for locations to go from and to up there, and you don't have to travel an idiotic distance to be out away from built-up areas.
I've a work colleague who lives in Whitley Bay (nutter, commutes to Peterborough, does his four shifts then off home again  ). I know he cycles about the place while he's up there, down into Newcastle and along the quayside, that sort of thing. You could always take in the delights of picturesque North Shields
