Hi from Wiltshire

Hi all,

Apparently I should post a new member introduction so here I am

In my teens I was very into cycling, used to build my own bikes out of spares and cycle silly distances for fun. Then I turned 16, Did my CBT and got a moped rode motorbikes until I was 21 then got my big boy car licence. Haven`t touched a bike with pedals now for atleast 14 years. Moved to Wiltshire 4 years ago and always thought that theres lots of good riding spots around here but never bothered to get a bike and ride them. I am now self employed with alot more free time on my hands and the wife has had enough of me being at home doing not alot She told me to get a hobby so I decided to get a bike again.

I knew that I wanted a Mountain bike but didnt want to throw a huge amount at one, Set a max budget of £500. Finally decided on a Carrera Vengeance from Halfrauds. I pick it up on Friday evening Hopefully it fits in the van whole

Collected the bike Friday evening. Had a few minor teething issues but all sorted quickly.

Took it for a short ride on Saturday, Just two miles down the local canal towpath and was supposed to go for a longer ride on Sunday.. but we ended up collecting our new puppy from slough instead

Managed to get out today, headed over to Caen Hill Locks and did a five mile loop including the entire 2 mile length of the locks themselves. Took forever to do but got there in the end

Fitness is shocking at the moment but ill stick at it and build up the distances over time.
