I am very new to cycling, a complete beginner and very enthusiastic.

I have a British Eagle mountain bike that was very kindly given to me

My brother is calling in on Monday to show me how to take the wheels off and repair a puncture.

Are there any other cyclists from Wirral/Liverpool/Cheshire?

Where do you ride?

I havent even been on my first bike ride, bit nervous!!

On the Wirral I've a few loops, sorta Hoylake to Parkgate and beyond, often on the Wirral way with the dog too.

So what are your aims Nadeen, what's inspired the cyclng?

I was very over weight, I lost 4 stone since I started my diet on 20 Jan

Now I have a bit more weight to lose but want to combine the weight loss with good exercise that is fun also.

If I go to the gym I know I will get bored fast but I think cycling is going to be different, interesting, you know?

There is a club that go on the Wirral wayevery Tuesday evening from May to Sept, I just emailed and asked if I could join lol what a cheek I have !!!!!

There is a club near me called CTC Two Mills

I dont know if I can post a link in this forum, it may be against the rules!!

They do rides on a Tuesday night from May to Sept on the Wirral Way, sounds good to me cos its off road and I think thats what I need till I am confident on a bike lol

I ride all over - sometimes travelling over on the train to Birkenhead then going north birkenhead then over to beechwood then onto hoylake and round to helsby/pensby and back to birk. to get the train to liverpool side again.

Thats a 50 ml'er including getting to l.pool, for me.

Do you go for an ice-cream at Parkgate ?

Oh I love the ice cream in Parkgate but alas diet stops me having one
