Hi there I am Darren, from Worcester, been cycling now for six months, I have a hybrid at present and looking to upgrade to a specialized Allez or Spectuer soon, took up riding to mainly keep fit, but 18 months ago my son was seriously ill, even though he physically recovered, it left him deaf, so my aim has changed a little, I have raised over £1000 in the last year and now using my love of cycling to help people/ kids to the funds they need, mainly NDCS but a host of other charities along the way.

Hello Darren and Welcome to the CC forums.

Sorry to here about your son, glad to here he's on the road to recovery.
Well done with the charity cycling.

"Norm" is our Specialized specialist and owns a "Secteur"(Tricross too I believe) they have an owners club on this very site and I'm sure they'd answer any questions you have. ;)

Good luck for the future and look forward to seeing posts from you.

Hello guys,

Thanks for the welcome, question to you Worcester guys, any good routes to try, I currently do the hallow road from St johns, keep going up and down for seven and a half miles then head back, it's a good session, but would like to try some new challenges, also anyone doing the BHF bike ride on the 4th July.

Most of the roads around the malvern hills are stunning, expecialy at this time of year. They are tough but you will get fit quick and there are plenty of springs for a free malvern water stop. If you can manage to get around to colwall and eastnor the roads are much quieter.

Get out of town by the cycle route through St Peters and Norton. You can then take in the pleasure of the lanes around Wadborough, Defford, Earls Croome and Pirton. Some lovely rides around there.
