Hi. Just started cycling again after 10 years.
I used to use my cheap mountain bike alot, but after passing the driving and motorbike test my trusty cycle king stead saw little action.
My Father recently started cycling to work after he bought a bike through the cycle to work scheme, and after taking his bike for a ride I was once again enthused. He bought a Giant hybrid bike, I was suprised at how nice it felt to ride.
So......the search for a bike began. I wanted something road orientated, maybe moreso than a hybrid, but wasn't sure about a full on racing bike. (It would only be used for leisure rides anyway). I was also fully aware that my budget was meagre, only £200 to start with
. Anyway the budget had to rise a little bit as I didn't like the look of anything in my price range.
In the end I probably went about it all in the wrong way and plumped for a 'Cross Crossbow' off ebay of all places. (I know people say don't order off the net!) Disappointment followed when the first bike arrived with slightly damaged forks, this was returned and another sent out. The next bike again had slightly scratched forks at the bottom. Rather than send the bike back (myself or shop didn't want to risk another one) I decided to keep the bike as long as I could negotiate a discount that I thought fair....which I did.
Anyway I've had it for a weekend now. Already been on three rides! A nine miler on Saturday and an 11 miler on Sunday which I did twice (just a bit slower the second time)
......bring on the London to Brighton next year!!
Here are some pics, some not very good as I was messing with the camera settings.
It's a high quality cycle.......it must be , it says so
Glad to be back on a bike
