Welcome to the Suffolk chapter of Cycle Chat Luke. I can thoroughly recommend Pedal Power over at Martlesham Heath who have got a cracking new showroom and a nice choice of bikes in that price range.

Plenty of you guys around.

My first choice was a hybrid, for using on the road, getting fit and some rides in The forest on the fire roads etc.

So I say looking at the beautiful Rapid 3, but was told that won't be any good for me, so I started to look at the Trek 7.3 FX, but I kept on thinking about the Rapid 3! I thought how much will I really ride in the forest, 1 a month if that, and if I did it's with the missus and the littlen so very gentle, and I would stick some 28c on when needed.

Hopefully get to buy the bike this weekend and pick it up during next week, so would love to go for a ride, I am not fit so either! I

I am going to pop to Pedal Power tonight.

I popped down to pedal power, didn't have anything I liked, but got some good advice regarding shoes.

I would like a pair, but very lost! I have seen some Muddyfox shoes in Sports-Direct, (cheap I know) but unsure what cleats/pedals work?

Looking to buy some shorts and a base layer to, at least want to look the part even when I am die from unfitness!

I know this is an outrageous generalisation, but go for the most expensive you can afford (and, once decided on the particular product, look for the best deal ) I've found that, as advised to me in my youth, the cheapest in the most expensive in the long run. (Check out the threads here for advice on what to get - I recently saved myself £60 on a new wheelset and got maximum value for what I could afford.)

I have been buying shorts from the Tenn Outdoors professional range since last year. I am a heavyweight, very heavy, and other shorts I have flattened the pad with just a few rides. The pad in these Tenn shorts, and tights, have been excellent and after a year are showing no sign of losing their padding.

They look good, I was going to buy some looser fitting shorts, which have a windproof layer inside and elastic around the leg.

Unsure how I would look and feel in tighter fitting ones?

I think once the warmer months come I will invest, but at the moment it's bloody cold outside.

Are any folk interested in a ride sometime, something gentle or a unfit 27yr old!
