i'm returning to cycling after a few years lay off,,
i've been given a carlton 5 speed (usable but needs restoring)
rode out for the first time today after making sure the bike is road worthy
oh boy i had forgotten what a racing style saddle felt like,but it was a
good feeling being back on 2 wheels powered by my own legs.

I think the majority on the forum have had a few years off at some stage.

Nothing much has changed except everything has got a lot lighter and more expensive.

How long will it be before you're on here asking for advice about what new bike to buy?

i'll stick with my carlton and building my own bikes

Welcome McTavish. I loved my Carlton until some unspeakable git relieved me of the bother of owning it. Great bike. Keep it rolling.
