The autumnal equinox is in three days so we are getting spring tides this week and next. The wek after next will see extra low or "neap" tides.

Just FYI, spring tides have high highs and low lows, so the extra low is tonight. Neap tides have a smaller difference between high and low tide.

Like this. The increased tidal flow is what makes spring tides so dangerous.

Right, back on topic!

I like your style, Joe. I refuse to shave my legs (edit: My wife refuses to let me try shaving my legs).

I will start a poll somewhere... see what the general concensus is. I don't want to hijack the thread,

On the subject of White shorts... nowt wrong there. Pinky bike... nowt wrong there either. Joe is obviously masculine enough for the pink-based homo-steryotypes not to apply.

Bad description by me, I meant low difference for neap tides, as the moon is at 90 degrees to the earth in relation to the sun.

Anyone been surfing tidal bores?

Hmm, wears white shorts, rides pink bike, and shaves legs :wahhey:

You would expect a lot of stick if you did all three

What are you going to do with the bike when pink goes out of fashion ?

Is it in fashion? I'd say Jasper and I are bucking the trend.

That said, I can turn it into a stealth machine pretty quickly as I've got spare wheels, saddles, bottle cages in the shed and cabling and bar tape can be swapped pretty quickly, but it's not going to happen.

+1 for the “Real men like pink” brigade – loads of pink shirts in my wardrobe :wahhey:, and although the bike is purple, I’d have chosen pink if it were an option…
